Syracuse Networking Professionals was founded in 2001 by Central New Yorker Kevin M. Crook.

Frustrated with the lack of referrals passed and the extra fees charged in other groups, Kevin realized this was counter-productive to the purpose of a networking group. He also realized that relationships, not financial penalties, help build stable ties in networking.

Syracuse Networking Professionals is now three chapters strong and starting a fourth chapter in July 2009. Members have reported business growth since joining, even in the wake of the current financial crisis.
